The Warner Theatre

This is one of Erie's oldest theaters. The Warner Theatre opened in 1931 as a movie theater.
Today it is now home to The Erie Broadway Series and several Big-Ticket concerts.
It is presently going through rennovations with the first phase complete.

The El Patio Motel Sign

This sign is located on West 8th St., just past Penninsula Drive in Erie. In this photo, my hand kind of got in the way, but It's still a picture. I believe this motel was here since the 1950's or 1960's.

They had got the sign operating at the time I took this picture. In the past few years, the sign went "dark" at night. But (for now,) they have repaired it.

Original Arby's Sign

I took this picture one summer evening when I was on my way home from work. The picture could have been better, but I wanted to get a night shot of this sign.

This Arby's is located on West 8th St. Near Penninsula Drive, not too far from either Presque Isle State park or Waldameer Park.

There are two of these old Arby's signs left in Erie and are still in operation. There is also one located in Meadville, about 30 miles south of Erie.

Sadly, more and more of these signs are disappearing. I think we need to make an effort to save and restore them. After all, they are a part of our past.

I just hope they never replace these signs.
